How it all started
NG Audio began it's roots way back in the 80's when the family ran mobile disco first started. As a household, we always had music playing, constantly surrounded by a diverse array of music from 50's onwards.Â
As soon as I was old enough, I was out helping load the gear in and setting up speakers and mixers, right back from the age of 8 years old. This is where my love and passion for music started.
Trying my hand as a musician
Throughout the years I've turned my hands to a number of instruments, currently playing Bass Guitar in a band, but previously starting on guitar and moving to the drums years later. This level of understanding of each instrument has helped me along the way in my career as a sound engineer. As a drummer, i know how IÂ want my kick to sound, IÂ know how IÂ like my toms to sound, IÂ know how IÂ like my snare to sound. But as a bass player, IÂ know how IÂ want my bass to sound. As a guitar player IÂ know how IÂ want the guitar solo to cut through the mix.
Studio Engineer
Starting out as a Studio Engineer, this helped me learn all the basics of Sound Engineering. Microphone choice, microphone placements, different types of microphones, different uses for different microphones, all things to do with recording music. In this, a wide knowledge base helped a lot, learning how to work with as many DAWs as possible, including Pro Tools, Cubase, Studio One, FL Studio, Ableton and Logic. In these 4 years I spent as much time as possible recording as much music as IÂ could.
Live Sound
Moving on from working in a Studio, I found myself gravitating towards Live Sound. Working live has a lot more pressure to it, but in a way it's more relaxed, things go wrong and don't have to be 100% perfect, drummers can slip up, guitarists can play a wrong note, but the band will continue and not stop and start the song again!

Throughout the years working as a Sound Engineer I've worked with 100s of different acts, from solo tribute acts, to full theatre shows. Theatre shows with an orchestra, or theatre shows with a full live rock band. Every different situation requires a different approach to their live mix, but here at NG Audio Ltd we are experienced in making sure that each individual situation sounds the best it possibly can.
